Raj to the Rescue: Perky Plants Story Excerpt:

Then Raj looked at the plants in the garden.  They were drooping over, and their leaves were wrinkled and squished looking.  Raj knew the plants were wilting in the sun.  “Mom, dad… Can I give the plants a drink?  I think they’re thirsty too.”  Raj asked his parents.

“Of course,” his mom said.  “You guessed our next step in the garden.” She had finished the last of the planting while Raj and his dad got their cups and pitcher.  “Come with me.”  Raj followed his mom.  She led him to the side of the house.  There was a watering can and a faucet.  Raj’s mom turned on the faucet and filled the watering can.  Raj picked it up. The can was a little heavy, and the water sloshed around inside it.  Raj slowly and carefully carried the can over to the garden.  He wanted to be sure the water stayed in the can until he was ready to pour it out.

Raj got to the garden and tipped the watering can just a little so that the water could gently sprinkle on the plants.  Soft rain trickled from out of the can and onto the broccoli plants.  The earth drank the water right up and changed from a light brown into a deep dark brown.  Raj moved forward slowly making sure each broccoli plant had enough to drink. He tilted the can further and further until the last drop dripped out.
