From 1972 to 1981, former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr. imposed martial law on the Philippines. The period of martial law was a really dark time for our country, and most Filipinos can attest to that. There are even some stories going around that say martial law was this time when the government was all up in people's business, like harassing and torturing them. But there are also many who claim things went smoothly, citing improvements like less crime and increased discipline.

Here's the thing: Marcos actually did some stuff that made the Philippines better, no doubt about it. But the truth is, a lot of Filipinos are still stuck, wondering if martial law was a smart move or a total disaster. It's a real dilemma.
