Recipe for Success with Guest Jack Harris, 3DE Schools
Just as there are no two recipes that contain the exact same ingredients or measurements, there are no two success stories exactly the same. Recipe for Success features entrepreneurs, visionary leaders and innovators of all ages who will share their ingredients that make them successful - personally and professionally.
Let's Get Cooking! This episode welcomes Jack Harris, President & Chief Executive Officer of 3DE Schools, an organization focused on transforming high school education to significantly expand economic opportunity. Through integrated public/private partnerships, 3DE uses case methodology to re-engineer learning and create academic environments that are more relevant, experiential, and authentically connected to life beyond the classroom walls.
In 2015, Harris spearheaded the pilot launch of the first 3DE high school in one of metro Atlanta's highest-poverty and lowest-performing high schools, leading to a 47 percent increase in graduation rates and a 30 percent reduction in transiency in four short years. 3DE was incubated within Junior Achievement of Georgia, where Jack was President & CEO for 10 years, after initially joining the JA Worldwide organization as the Director of International Operations in 2002. Harris is currently leading the $55 million effort to expand 3DE to 55 schools by 2024, building to the long-term goal of 500 schools by 2030.
Jack holds a degree in Politics and a certificate in Political Economy from Princeton University, and spent parts of his early career in both education and business. He serves on the Board of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, and is a member of YPO Southern 7. Harris often speaks on the role of public/private partnerships in education, and has been recognized for his work in education and economic development, being named one of Atlanta Business Chronicle's 40 under 40 in 2009 and one of Atlanta's Most Admired CEOs in 2017.
