Is a career in science research for you? In this second episode of six, MEFISTA Project Manager Karola Woods interviews MEFISTA Early Stage Researcher (ESR), Nayeem Akhter, hosted by UPC (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), about his work on this European Training Network project, MEFISTA. Nayeem, who is from India, explains in everyday terms to Karola what he is working on, his love of maths - and what being a researcher is like. The project has six researchers in total who will explain their work in this 'scientist-meets-non-scientist' set-up. The ESRs are based with partners around Europe and are working to advance the optical communications of tomorrow. MEFISTA is a project looking at Multi-Scale Fibre-Based Optical Frequency Combs and is funded by EC Horizon 2020 under Marie Sklodowska Curie Grant 861 152.
