As the story unfolds, Patsy, Ma Donovan, Pinky, and Slim narrowly escape capture by using the injured pilot, Zollinger, as a shield. Meanwhile, Captain Midnight and Chuck are nearby, trying to communicate with Patsy using an old signal from their grammar school days. After some tense moments, they successfully reunite with Patsy and the others.

The group discusses their next steps and the mysterious injured pilot, Zollinger, who hasn't spoken a word since his capture. Captain Midnight decides to take him along to keep their plans secret. However, in a dramatic twist, Zollinger seizes an opportunity to escape, leaving everyone in shock.
