Don Briere was one of BC’s biggest cannabis producers until the police shut him down in 1999 before he went on to open the first recreational cannabis storefront in North America: Da Kine Smoke and Beverage. In the first part of this two-part series, we tell the story of his life as an illegal grower. Plus we talk to Ted Smith, founder of a Victoria medicinal cannabis club, about how he got medical edibles legalized in Canada.
