In this last part I will share a few lines from a beautiful piece of Nizar Qabbani’s great poem “This is my Love .. This is my City.
This is My Love .. This is My City ..
I look for a city
That we write whatever we want on its walls
A city that stirs the earthquake inside us
Surprises us .. frightens us .. worries us
A city that does not suppress love or poetry
And suppress us not
I search for narrow streets that swallow us
(I search) for an adventurous boat
That takes us at night and never gets us back
I choose my exile as I like
And create the time and place
Always choose the side of the poem
And the side of man
I look for a small angle in a restaurant
That listens to our conversation
