Description

In this episode, Kristin talks with author and speaker, Katie Feltmate @oceanshoresandmetaphors, about how she endured domestic abuse, yet found the strength to turn her trauma into art and use it along her own healing journey.

Katie is a Canadian poet and gender-based violence advocate based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She believes in using writing as a tool for healing and processing the world around us. Her poetry is vulnerable and direct, exploring love, heartbreak, trauma, mental illness, healing, womanhood and more.

Her recent book, “Love in the Age of Quarantine,” chronicles a year of healing and exploration after an abusive relationship; it is a love letter to the self.
