S2 EP 5: Brigid O'Hora: The Down-to-Earth Sommelier
Description
For those of you the follow Brigid O'Hara aka bridey_wine_chats, I can attest to the fact that she is the nicest, friendliest most down to earth woman. It was such a pleasure to speak to her in her hometown of Achill Island.
Brigid O'Hora has spent over twenty years working in the wine industry. She began her training in Australia and since then has been a wine studies lecturer, held several posts as sommelier at prestigious restaurants in Paris, Boston, Sydney, Dublin and Clare and set up her own wine tasting business which she ran for three years.
Nowadays, between raising her triplet children on the beautiful island of Achill off the west coast of Ireland, Brigid works as a Business Development Manager for Classic Drinks, an Irish wine company. And her passion remains spreading the joy of wine in a non-fussy, heartfelt manner, through food, joy and connection.
Brigids honesty is refreshing and of course we get honest about what it has been like for her raising triplets.
Brigid has a book due out in October, titled The Home Sommelier: Your down-to-earth guide to choosing good wine. I honestly cannot wait to get my hands on it. I think its a great gift or stocking filler.
