S206 - Inside Dance - Stories From the Pandemic - Part 1
Update: 2021-08-06
Description
The field of dance moved from a physical world to a virtual world at a rapid pace this past year - leaving many to question, How will I make money? Does dance serve me at this time? How can I keep moving forward with my art? For the next two episodes we are taking the opportunity to check in with a few of the artists who are here in person for BDF 2021. These artists share their stories about how their lives, teaching, and art making have shifted this past year in response to the pandemic and in response to the various socio-political forces at work in the U.S. BDF 2021, a smaller, more intimate festival working in both live and virtual exchanges, offered an opportunity for faculty, artists, and students alike to ease back into movement, support each other, heal and make, moving towards the future world we are building. Thanks for listening and your continued support of the Bates Dance Festival.
