S2E6 Karra Pierce: Let's Talk Databases - WILD-ONe!
Description
Host Gail Buhl breaks from the podcast's usual taxa-specific format to discuss a topic of growing importance and interest in the wildlife rehabilitation world: databases. Such databases are the wildlife medicine equivalent of electronic medical records now used in most (human) healthcare systems and hospitals. In this episode Karra Pierce, a veterinary director at The Wildlife Center of Virginia, discusses the WILD-ONe database, which was launched there and is widely regarded as a top choice among wildlife rehabilitators and veterinarians for tracking the medical and day-to-day care of animals.
This is the first of four wildlife databases we'll cover this season. These database-specific episodes will appear in the lineup as their creators and managers are available to speak with us.
