In a dramatic and electrifying 5-3 win over the Boston Red Sox, the A's showed the world they are more than just spoilers—they are dream crushers. The A's came into Fenway with a fire in their bellies and sent a clear message to Boston: don't mess with the underdogs. The game began with a bang as Lawrence Butler doubled off the monster, followed by Brent Rooker's massive two-run blast, his 30th of the season, to give the A's an early 2-0 lead. From there, the A's built on their momentum, with Nick Kurtz and Tyler Soderstrom driving in runs to make it 3-0, setting the tone for the game. 

Though Boston fought back with some clutch moments, including David Hamilton's solo homer in the 2nd, the A’s never let up. J.T. Ginn showed grit on the mound, going 6 innings and keeping the Red Sox in check after the early innings. The A’s added to their lead in the 7th when Kurtz soft roller to short caused a throwing error by Boston’s Trevor Story gave them a comfortable 5-2 edge. Despite a late home run from Story in the 8th, The A's bullpen held firm, with Hogan Harris and Michael Kelly shutting the door in the final innings. The A’s stood tall and played the role of spoiler to perfection, handing Boston a crushing 5-3 defeat, and leaving Fenway in stunned silence.
