Santa Monica Colleges Sustainable Materials Management program, recently named the Outstanding Higher Education Program by the National Recycling Coalition, trains students for jobs in the circular economy. Led by Professor Victoria Charles, the program offers degrees and certificates focused on zero waste and smart materials use, with graduates landing real jobs fast. The program, which includes an associate degree, achievement certificates, and advanced zero waste training, is spreading green ideas across campus and partnering for national certifications.
