Sarah B - The Big Book Solution for Co-dependents - Meeting #13
Sarah identifies as a blackout codependent. She has been a member of Codependents Anonymous for almost 5 years. Sarah spent 18 months in the rooms of CoDA attending meetings weekly. Although learning a lot about the disease of codependency, sponsorship was not a part of her meetings. Eventually, Sarah helped start a step study group within the fellowship so that members could work the steps in recovery. This still continues today.
However, after yet another bottom and yet another failed relationship, Sarah needed more help than simply going to meetings. Even the coda step study was insufficient to provide Sarah with the help she desperately needed. 2.5 years ago, by the grace of God, she found a sponsor in the rooms of SLAA who believed in the undiluted message of the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. 3 months later, Sarah was rocketed in the fourth dimension of existence. She went from being suicidal, anxiety ridden, and hopeless to being happy, joyous and free. Since then, Sarah has been on a mission to sponsor members of coda and share the Big Book message with those who still suffer.
Welcome to the Reco12 Speaker Meeting. We are an organization whose addictions include alcohol, drugs, lust and sex, food and gambling, just to name a few. We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to learn the similarities of addiction and to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path. We invite recovering addicts with at least 1 year sobriety and who are actively working their recovery in their respective fellowships to share their experience, strength and hope on a live Zoom meeting, each Friday at 12:00 pm central time, for 20-25 minutes. Then, we, the live audience, get the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker for another 20-25 minutes. If you are hearing this podcast recorded and would like to participate as a live audience member, or if you would like to be a guest speaker in a future meeting, please go to www.reco12.com to learn more and submit your email address there to receive weekly invitations or to submit to become a guest speaker.
Reco12 is a self supporting project, and we appreciate your help in keeping it that way. We gratefully accept contributions to help cover the costs of the Zoom platform, podcast platform, web hosting, and administrative costs. To contribute, you can go to https://www.reco12.com/support or you can click the link to PayPal (https://www.paypal.me/reco12) in the chat of the live meeting. Or, if you use Venmo, you can also contribute there. Our handle is @Reco-Twelve. When you contribute, please specify the meeting number. This is meeting number 13.
Thanks again, Sarah! That was a great Reco12 weekly speaker meeting for all addicts and those wanting to learn more about addiction and the recovery therefrom.
