Jasmine Bleile grew up in rural Ontario and got her start playing saxophone in the house jazz band of a local restaurant with supper club aspirations. She began singing after her bandmates encouraged her to give it a try and since then she’s lived enough for two lives. She went to and graduated from the police academy, decided against walking a beat, joined a country-folk band, got a record deal, toured the world, had a son and raised him right, and now she’s back with a new record."
"After years of hiatus, the Montréal-based vocalist and musician is back, both wiser and wizened. She has left her old country-folk sound in the dust; it never quite fit. Today’s sound is smoother and more comfortable. If you said stronger you’d be right; if you said sexier you wouldn’t be wrong. But naming things is for other people. Call it blue-eyed soul. Call it rhythm and blues. Call it whatever you think it should be called
