The life cycle of a frog, known as METAMORPHOSIS, is the transition of a tadpole to an adult frog. The life cycle starts with an egg, which hatches into a tadpole, the tadpole eventually gains hind and front legs, turns into a froglet as it begins to leave the water, then eventually turning into an adult frog.
Why are we speaking of tadpoles and frogs in today’s devotional? Because the devil copies everything the Lord has for our good for his evil! Notice what the Apostle Paul taught by the Holy Spirit:
*Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: BUT BE YE TRANSFORMED(METAMORPHOSIS) by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
*Romans 12:1-2 (CEV) Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That’s the most sensible way to serve God. 2 DON’T BE LIKE THE PEOPLE OF THIS WORLD(METAMORPHOSIS), but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him.
It is the Lord’s plan to change us (METAMORPHOSIS) moment by moment to think like Him, to talk like Him until one day we at His coming will be exactly like Him! But the enemy of our soul is a copycat from the evil side of things! So, he presents his words – his sin little by little hoping we will be too busy to notice it until it grows and changes into something else in our lives (Ask Pharoah)!
*James 4:17 (KJV) Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
*James 4:17 (CEV) If you don’t do what you know is right, you have sinned.
Sin is sneaky, right? Sin begins so cleverly as we just read, just a simple act of disobedience. A word or an image flash across my mind, eye or ear gate then a desire arises within me. I allow it to hang around instead of being obedient and casting it down (2 Cor. 10:5). The image intensifies trying to convince me why it is not just acceptable but necessary! The evil image grows stronger and starts a “METAMORPHOSIS” in reverse away from what the Lord has for me! The once little thing has gone from a seed to a tadpole and then to a frog.
God’s Word teaches me I could have demolished this image when it was little (2 Cor. 10:5). But now is has evolved into something completely different than what the devil showed me! AND NOW IT BEGINS TO MAKE DEMANDS ON MY TIME, MY RESOURCES, MY JOB, MY FAMILY, MY EXISTENCE AND OUR DESTINY! What once was an option has now become my slave driver (John 8:34 ) making me do what I don’t want to do and keeping me from doing what I should do!
Sin is sneaky, right? We see this happen over and over in scripture. We get in trouble when we are NOT even considering what the devil is trying to sow in us! King David he was supposed to be leading the army of Israel, but he was not in his place! Always remember in your place you have the anointing God gave you for success! But when you are out of God’s place then you are giving place (Ephesians 4:27 ) to the devil! Turn to 2 Samuel 11 and mediate upon the steps of going downward from the rooftop to the depth of hell.
*2 Samuel 11:1-5 (KJV) And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem. 2 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose fr
