WELCOME TO CELTIC MUSIC

* Helping you celebrate Celtic culture through music. My name is Marc Gunn. I am a Celtic musician and podcaster. This show is dedicated to the indie Celtic musicians. Please support these artists. Share the show with your friends. And find more episodes at celticmusicpodcast.com.

I have a very special show to share with you today. It’s a tradition that I’ve been doing longer than this podcast.

Every St Patrick’s Day since before the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast even existed, I published a blog where I shared 17 Celtic MP3s that you could download for free for St Patrick’s Day.

You see, I interact with a LOT of Celtic bands and musicians. They gave me permission to give away some of their music. All they ask is that I tell you where to find out more about them so that perhaps you might buy their music and support them.

Today, you will hear ALL of the songs that you will be able download for free on St Patrick’s Day.

So if there’s a song or tune that you absolutely love in today’s show. You can either visit their website by following the link in the shownotes, or you can wait until March 14, when I will email you a link where you can download all of the music for free.

If you want to jump the gun, the downloads are actually now available to all of our Song Hengers. These folks pledge $5 per episode or more per month to support this podcast on Patreon. I’ll tell you more about that later.

TRAVEL WITH CELTIC INVASION VACATIONS
Every year, I take a small group of Celtic music fans on the relaxing adventure of a lifetime. We don't see everything. Instead, we stay in one area. We get to know the region through its culture, history, and legends. You can join us with an auditory and visual adventure through podcasts and videos. Learn more about the invasion at http://celticinvasion.com/

THANK YOU PATRONS OF THE PODCAST!

Because of Your kind and generous support, this show comes out every week. Your generosity funds the creation, promotion and production of the show. It allows us to attract new listeners and to help our community grow.

As a patron, you get to hear episodes before regular listeners. When we hit a milestone, you get an extra-long episode. You can pledge a dollar or more per episode and cap how much you want to spend each month over on Patreon.

A super special thanks to our Celtic Legends: Morgan George, Samir Malak, Carol Baril, Miranda Nelson, Nancie Barnett, Kevin Long, Lynda MacNeil, Annie Lorkowski, Travis Senzaki, Shawn Cali

You can become a generous Patron of the Podcast on Patreon at SongHenge.com.

If you want to find out Celtic musicians on Patreon, I have a blog article about that.

FREEBIES

We will publish our 500th episode of the Irish & Celtic Music Podcast next week. This show started in 2005, a year after podcasting became a phenomena. But even before that my goal was to change the way you hear Celtic music, both as a marketing term and how you listen.

I started giving away free music like the 17 for St Patrick’s Day. Then I gave away free podcasts like this and other podcasts I host.

In fact, I’d like you to check out 11 St Patrick’s Day Facts in the Pub Songs Podcast. I created that episode with some fun facts about St Patrick’s Day and combined it with music from bands in this podcast. I also launched some St Patrick’s Day stories in that podcast. So subscribe and check it out.

I have a free eBook for Celtic musicians. It’s called Celtic Musicians Guide to Digital Music. If you want some internet marketing tips, you will want to get that book.

And I realized after compiling this list, that that’s a lot of things to share. So if you send an email to email address in the show, then you will get links to all of these freebies. Plus there’s a few exclusive podcast episodes that are not in the public feed. And I’ll show you how to get a free CD of mine while they last.

Luz Leitner emailed: "Hello, Marc

My name is Luz. I came from Brasil but I've  live in Austria since 2015. When I arrived here, everything was so different that I was very sad at the beginning. So I wanted to hear something that could make me feel better. I looked for Radio that Irish and/or Scottish music played, because I love such music. And "voila" - I found your podcast and since then it is being my company specially during my walkout with my dog.

I am your fan and I love the music selections. I always try to write those I like more to find out more about the artists. Thanks for your amazing work. "Alles gute""

Hank Woodward emailed: "Hi Marc,

Hope the new year finds you and your family safe and healthy. As rough as 2020 was , the Irish and Celtic Music podcast remained a bright spot and ongoing inspiration to me. And the podcast is beginning 2021 just as outstanding as ever.

In other news: you may recall that my older son Jackson, high school orchestra violist, got to perform in Carnegie Hall with Irish tenor Eric Cahill in march in NYC St. Patrick’s Day parade in 2018. Well, my younger son Michael plays trumpet in the high school band, and they have been invited to participate in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in 2022 in......wait for it....DUBLIN!

Again, So much thanks for bringing us all the podcast. Slainte’"
