Description

In today’s sermon, “Staying Confident,” we close our journey through the book of 1 John by exploring how believers can live with a steady, unshakable confidence in Jesus. Confidence rises and falls quickly in life — like a chess game gone wrong — but John shows us how to keep our spiritual confidence strong no matter what comes our way.

We look at three key truths from 1 John 5:18 –21:

1. Trust Jesus to protect you
We still battle sin, but we don’t have to stay in it. Jesus guards us, strengthens us, and keeps us from being destroyed by the enemy. God is actively working to protect your soul.

2. Embrace the understanding God gives
Confidence grows when we see clearly. Jesus opens our eyes to truth, guides us through confusion, and helps us understand who God really is. When you see clearly, you live confidently.

3. Guard yourself from a divided heart
Idols promise confidence but always steal it. John calls us to guard our hearts from anything that competes with God. A guarded heart becomes a confident heart.

As we finish the book of 1 John, we’re reminded that real confidence doesn’t come from us. It comes from the One who saves us, reveals truth to us, protects us, and keeps us. Confidence rooted in Jesus cannot be shaken.

Watch now and be encouraged to walk in the confidence that only Christ can give.
