Description

Are tongues and prophecy still valid today? How do we know when tongues should be used, or if a prophecy is truly from God?
We should desire the spiritual gifts which God gives freely to his people for the edification of the church, and we should use them in love. We should also desire the higher gifts (tongues and prophecy) as they are good gifts from God, but not having those gifts does not make us less Christian, less Spirit-filled, or not saved.
Perhaps you have witnessed when tongues or prophecy were faked, or felt it was a devilish manipulation. Sadly, that can be the case. We must always ‘test the spirits’ against the Word of God. God is a God of order, but may we never put our own idea of order above God’s idea of order.
