Description

A man has turned himself in for the shooting of New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd, who was critically injured outside a Midtown Manhattan restaurant. The suspect, whose name and charges have not been released, surrendered with his attorney on Monday. Boyd, 29, was shot in the stomach and underwent surgery at Bellevue Hospital. The incident occurred after a group of men outside the restaurant began mocking the Jets players, leading to a fight and gunfire. Investigators used facial recognition and a Crime Stoppers tip to identify the suspect. Boyd, who had signed with the Jets in March, has been on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury.
