Description

On this week’s edition of Sustainability Now!, your host, Justin Mog, sits down for a LIVE interview with Sarah Lynn Cunningham, Executive Director of the Louisville Climate Action Network (LCAN)! LCAN envisions a net-zero Louisville, meeting its energy needs through energy efficiency and renewable resources. They work to achieve this vision by offering reliable consumer information online and through free, customized programming,as well as advocacy work for smarter public policies to reduce carbon pollution and cut costs.

Sarah Lynn is a licensed environmental engineer, educator and activist for over 50 years. She holds two interdisciplinary degrees from the University of Louisville: a BAS in environmental engineering and MS in environmental education and environmental history. Retired from civil service, she applies her practical experience to achieving clients’ E2/RE goals. After joining the international Climate Reality Project and being licensed by Al Gore to give her version of "An Inconvenient Truth," she co-founded Louisville CAN.

LCAN is hosting several workshops in the coming weeks:

How to Go Solar at Your Home or Business

Saturday, January 18th at 10am

OR

Saturday, January 25th at 1pm

It's not too late to tap the sun for clean solar power. Yes, the state may change net-metering rules in regressive ways as soon as April, but there's still time to install and receive net-metering with full parity and the 26% federal tax credit! Attend one of LCAN's “B4UBuy" seminars, where you'll visit an easy to see, ground-mounted system, then come indoors for experienced-based tips and consumer advice, as well as pose any questions. Seating is limited to 15, so registration and a donation are required. This seminar will be held in Louisville, presumably at a ground-mounted solar installation on Upper River Road with a heated, indoor classroom. Registration ensures you'll be notified in advance of the exact address. Just go to http://louisvillecan.org to register.
Workshop: How to Insulate Your Home or Small Business

Saturday, February 8th, 1:00PM, at the Highland-Shelby Park Library in Mid-City Mall on Bardstown Rd.

Has the cost of heating put a big hole in your budget? Insulating your home permanently lowers your utility bills. Check out our class covering tips for insulating your attic well and cost effectively; suitable for small businesses too. Join LCAN for a free, B4UBuy presentation covering tips for replacing your heating system. No registration necessary.
