Taiwan's MediaTek targets billions in AI accelerator chip revenue by 2027
Update: 2025-10-31
Description
MediaTek, Taiwan's leading chip design company, announced ambitious plans to capture a significant portion of the AI chip market by 2024, with their AI accelerator ASIC chips expected to earn billions by 2027 and cloud AI chips generating one billion in revenue by 2026. Despite fierce competition, MediaTek has partnered with Nvidia to co-design the GB-ten Grace Blackwell Superchip, featured in Nvidia's new DGX Spark personal AI supercomputer. MediaTek's AI ambitions remain on track, despite Nvidia's recent investment in Intel, as they aim to capture at least 10-15% of the total data center ASIC chip market.
