If they were to hide a flat, dome covered earth , its not to hide God or to make money. its to prevent chaos. Scientific studies show animals in cages live completely unnatural lives, no matter how big the cage. They spend their lives depressed, searching for an exit until they lay down and die. I believe the government discovered the flat earth at the end of WW2 when they finally had rocketry that hit the top of the dome and ice breaking ships that found it in Antarctica as well. At that time, they couldn't risk telling a fractured, broken world that needed rebuilt that we all live in a giant cage. So they lied and kept lying. If they told the truth now, it would end civilization as we know it for people all over the world would lose faith in their governments while they freak out on eachother.
