New Delhi Car bomb – Started as a random act – soon determined to be a terrorist bombing.

Breaking news and an unfolding story from India taking place in New Delhi yesterday and earlier today. A car, packed with explosives blew up in the Red Fort area of New Delhi, a densely populated area as well as an area in the heart of the City.

Initial reports puts casualties at “some” and then 8 and with each hour of the live broadcast, the number of deaths rose to 13 (as of today, November 11). Amid the confusion and fear generated from this terrorist attack, the hunt for suspects and some explanation as to what prompted this act shifted into high gear, with closed circuit camera footage being pored over by forensic teams – physical evidence gathered by combing the area of the blast.

As of tonight (6:00 pm PST – November 11), persons of interest have been named, but no one has been apprehended – suspicions and a few sightings of some individuals known to be active in organized groups have been spotted on some CCTV tapes – but as of right now nothing has materialized. The city is on a heighten state of alert and later reports indicated that a similar car bombing took place in Islamabad, Pakistan less than a day later. There is no indication the two incidents are related, for now.

In our current state of Media, reporting these stories taking place in other parts of the world takes a distant backseat, but is no less important.

These two reports; one from November 10th, shortly after the bombing and the second; the aftermath and continued search for bodies and survivors continuing comes from Indian State Media who have been reporting this event live around the clock.
