Description

Mitch Ryder broke through with a blue-eyed growl in the 1960s, bringing a hard-edged and sultry Detroit sound to blues-based rock. But in 1967 his career was at a sudden crossroads, so he wrote a song inspired by his daughter. What followed was, in many ways, the end of Ryder's career as a hitmaker.

This is The Almost Famous, a podcast about songs that peaked at No. 41 on the Billboard Hot 100.
