Hope that the son is being taken care of.
My husband and I have owned crossbows for years without so much as one accidental discharge despite much use and being self-taught. Much less two accidents. No one is perfect but how do you not learn from the first accident? I think he DID learn from the first one. Not the lesson his wife would've hoped for, though.
