Description
In 2016, 22 days after Sherri Papini vanished from her home, she reappeared, claiming she’d been kidnapped. The detectives who cracked the case discuss the details with Keith Morrison.
The point is, factitious disorder or not, the type of mental illness that her supporters claim she had is not the kind that keeps you from knowing right from wrong. She knew what she was doing, and it was not only hurtful to her family, costly to her community, but it was also quite fraudulent. When I first heard about this case, she had been recently "returned" and I immediately doubted her story. Two Latina women acting alone running a human trafficking ring? Yeah, no. Any police officer who has studied human trafficking can tell you that doesn't happen. And she is a racist. Why not make up two white women? Or two white men? Why name two Latina women and racially charge the crime? She is a gross human being, above and beyond her factitious disorder. And as a Latina woman, let me assure you Sherry...we aren't jealous of you.
