We are honored to have as our guest on this episode Carol Dankmeyer. If you are at all interested in the early days of television in Baltimore, this is the episode for you.  After a year in radio, at WCBM, Carol worked two stints at WMAR-TV, first from 1950-1954 and again from 1964-1968.  She shares with us many stories about the local and national celebrities she met during that time, including Bailey Goss, Gary Moore, Milton Berle, Sammy Davis Jr., Jim Nabors, Mickey Rooney,  and Dorothy Lamour, who at the time lived with her family in Dulaney Valley.  Carol also recalls her days as a dance instructor for the Fred Astaire Dance Studio. 

Originally from Long Island but descended on her father's side from French Huguenots who settled in Havre de Grace, Carol grew up in Towson and since 2004 has lived in Bel Air. She is a devout Christian and is an active member at the New Covenant Community Church of God.

Not all of her jobs were as exciting as the ones she had in TV, but Carol, who turns 92 in February, has lived quite the life and we were thrilled to have the opportunity to speak with her.
