Description

If you know a guy that isolates and may need some friends, this episode is for you. What got it started? This week, the cast of SNL performed a hilarious sketch called "The Man Park" (Link below). The man park is a place where men can connect with one another and just be guys. Noam and Joi dissect this 3 minute short-film and pull out all the wisdom and guidance about men that it has to offer. Naturally we ask questions like: Why do men isolate? Why do men have difficulty making friends? Where are all the friends that men should have?

During our conversation we also address a larger cultural "Man-Box" that most men find themselves in.  The Man Box refers to a set of beliefs, communicated by parents,

families, the media, peers, and other members of society, that place pressure on men to be a certain way. These pressures tell men to be self-sufficient, to act tough, to be physically attractive, to stick to rigid gender roles, to be heterosexual, to have sexual prowess, and to use aggression to resolve conflicts.
