It's important to remember to still provide value to the team and demonstrate your worth to the organization, even while negotiating salary. It is important to approach this strategy with caution, as overly aggressive negotiation tactics can backfire and damage your relationship with your employer.

One good time to consider salary negotiations is when a new project is starting ( When the company doesn't have time to replace you ) or when something important needs to be completed and you are a key part of its success. This can be a prime opportunity to increase the chances of getting a higher salary.
