Masullo in the School of Journalism and Media and Associate Director of the Center for Media Engagement at the University of Texas at Austin, in the U.S., talks through her coauthored piece in Journalism Practice about online discourse between journalists and audiences and how journalists are becoming equipped to take on these conversations. We also hear from Kyser Lough in the Journalism Department at the University of Georgia, in the U.S., who discusses interactions between journalists, wire service photographs, and the influence of race and gender in how and what gets selected for newspaper front pages.
