Lyrics by Ron Allen:
Trixie turner's looking through the pages of a magazine,
and sees the faces of the latest, greatest, oh, hey look at Me's.
Trixie trick get hits with a brick, whips an epiphany right from her lips,
doesn't ever quite think so quick as this, but her mind just popped,
as a thought persist.
Looks are a gift that when properly applied,
can uplift you from plight and send you right into the light.
These girls don't look no better than I she had decided.
She took a hit of her fix for confidence,
and down the street she glided.
With her puckered up lips and a sway in her hips,
through the fancy part of the city where exposure she would get.
No one noticed her gifts, if fact acted as if sick,
so she looked at her reflection on the
coffee shop on fifth.
She noticed she had been naked ever since her last trick!
What now could she do under the circumstances given?
She was frozen stiff, ashamed,
wished she could just fall down and stop living.
(Chorus)
And then a man who played the fiddle with a hat down by his feet cried out, Everything is fine, gurl, just cross into the beat."
Odd Levi Key-Key Doc, scoffed at all the pleasant talk.
Peck-peck pick the shit apart, electric bill my car won't start.
Ouch!
A sharp pain, that's my heart, and too much stress, I work too hard.
No love, no friends, I'll just depart.
Buy gun at Walmart then he'll die.
Walmart say sorry this card declined,
he freaked, got thrown on his behind.
Levi he went on his way,
"why do you hate me" to God he say.
God he don't to he reply,
so odd little Levi go to freeway to die.
He jumps right off the bridge and falls,
into a truck full of bouncy balls.
The truck it reached it's destination,
and stopped at the dock of a retail location,
and sadly to breaking Key-Key's poor heart,
the dock done belonged to the same Walmart!
Levi now decided he was too hungry to die,
and he started towards the city for a coffee and some pie.
When he finally got there, he fell to his knees and cried,
Then the man with the fiddle and a hat at his feet,
said, "Don't you dare fall to defeat. Feel the fresh rhythm,
and cross into the beat!"
Then he played his fiddle and was sounding fresh and clean.
another from the other side, played bongos like a king.
The police showed up and at first advanced- with a purpose in their step,
but when their ears became keen to the fresh scene,
they tap danced right and left!
Wasn't long, and everyone within 10-miles of the scene,
tapped, hummed and strummed to The People's Beat.
Cops and whores held hands and danced,
while Key-Key Doc and Sam Walton clapped.
Didn't matter who, or the condition of your mind,
everyone together, from the rhythm unified.
So, if you find your blue inside,
cross into the beat,
funk master,
throw your angst to tides.
Everyone on this plain is equal.
color blind these eyes.
