The act of taking someone’s life through poisoning has been around since Ancient Rome and Greece, when it was the preferred method of assassination. Plants like nightshade, hemlock, oleander, and snakeroot were often mixed into a target’s food or drink. These natural poisons became less useful in Medieval Europe, when antidotes were developed for many poisonous plants.



You’ll see the focal point of this case is the involvement of an atypical form of poison. While it may seem like an archaic method of inducing harm, the case we’re about to explore proves that it’s a very modern threat.
