Beatrix Potter is one of the most popular children’s book author and her stories are often based on animal characters. The Tale of Mrs. Tiggy-winkle was first published in 1905, and is as charming today as it was then. It tells the tale of a hidden home high in the hills. One day a little girl called Lucie discovers that her pocket-handkerchiefs have gone missing so she sets out in search of her missing pocket-handkerchiefs. She knocks on the tiny door and meets Mrs. Tiggy-winkle who does all the washing and ironing for the neighboring animals. Lucie spends a lovely day helping her and having a cup of tea. It's only right at the end of the day that she realizes that Mrs. Tiggy-winkle is actually a hedgehog!
