At the moment, New Zealand optimal processing capacity is about 110,000 tonnes of tyres, but the market demand is currently around 35,000 tonnes and with that in mind Adele touches upon Tyrewise’s plans to strengthen local demand for recycled rubber end products, but also their strategy to avoid the risks posed by predatory actors who want to purchase end of life tyres at knock-down prices.
