ThrowBLKs: Limp Bizkit's Nü-Metal Masterpiece, "Chocolate Starfish & the Hot Dog Flavored Water"
Description
Our most dangerous ThrowBLKs to date, powered by the angsty teens of the new millennium. ⭐🌭
By the time we left the party of 1999, Limp Bizkit cemented their status as teenage America’s rap-rock antiheroes. The soundtrack for the country's new attitude blasted from high school parking lots, PS2 loading screens, wrestling entrances and ESPECIALLY on TRL. They were messy, loud, aggressive, and somehow exactly what millions of kids needed growing up in the 2000s. But beneath the backwards red Yankee cap and chaotic live shows was a group that defined the decade very early with some of nu metal's most infectious anthems.
In this episode of ThrowBLKs, we revisit the album that broke records and set the standard with our track-by-track retrospective, including the stunning performance at Woodstock '99, the multiple disses to the band from their other rock peers, the records guaranteed to kick off multiple moshpits, the genius of Wes Borland and why Fred Durst was one of music's biggest finessers. It’s time to give them their flowers!
