Dungeons & Dragons is based on the role-playing tabletop game of the same name. Originally produced by TSR, the rights to the game were purchased by Wizards of the coast in 1997. The cartoon series aired from 1983 to 1985 on CBS for three total seasons.
The show focuses on a group of six friends who are transported to a fantasy realm. In this new world they take on the role of familiar fantasy archetypes and are lead on their way with their helpful guide, Dungeon Master.
