TotalEnergies, Japan Gas Companies Partner for Clean Energy
Update: 2025-12-02
Description
TotalEnergies, TES, and three Japanese gas companies have signed a deal to develop the Live Oak e-NG project in Nebraska, aiming for commercial operations by 2030. The project focuses on creating synthetic natural gas, with Osaka Gas, Toho Gas, and ITOCHU owning a one-third stake. The facility will use carbon dioxide from bioethanol plants and hydrogen from renewable electricity, producing seventy-five thousand tons of synthetic methane annually. This collaboration supports Japans decarbonization efforts and TotalEnergies global e-natural gas expansion.
