Description

The failure of the two-party system along with all associated trappings of such have been discussed nearly at nauseam within the reaches of the listening audience, and the cry out for a third party has been more than heard. (At least by those, once again, that listen to the show) But talking is only half the battle. Yes, open discussion is very much needed and encouraged, but what about actions? Where are the proverbial “boots on the ground” for the third-party movement? This week on The Malliard Report, Jim welcomes a guest that has been deep in the trenches for quite some time.

On this episode, Jim welcomes writer, director, politician, comedian, gubernatorial candidate, provocateur, raccoonteur (yes, raccoonteur) and pundit Travis Irvine to share his varied endeavors, adventures, and cage-rattling commentary. “Travis Irvine is a comedian, journalist, filmmaker, and unsuccessful politician. He has been featured on VICELAND, the Guardian, HuffPost, Mediaite, Jesse Ventura’s “Off the Grid” and Mic. Travis wrote and directed a feature-length horror/satire film about killer raccoons that is available from the cult film company Troma Entertainment and is set to release a sequel by Christmas 2018. In 2007 Travis ran for mayor of his hometown in Ohio and turned the experience into a short documentary called "AMERICAN MAYOR" that was featured at the Cannes Film Festival and is now available on Amazon Prime. Travis’ campaign and comedy videos have been featured on “The Jay Leno Show,” PBS’s “NewsHour” and Funny Or Die, and he was also once on “The People’s Court." His debut comedy album "GUY FROM OHIO" was released from On Tour Records in the summer of 2017. A recent graduate of Columbia Journalism School, Travis lives and performs between New York City and Ohio.”

Travis breaks down the misguided assumptions that people have of third parties, especially the Libertarian party in a manner that is easily understood, and his commentary on our current climate will certainly give you a chuckle. You can find most of Travis’ works through a multitude of online outlets, and you can also find him via Twitter @TravisIrvineUSA.
