"Ranked choice voting". We have it in Australia. We call it preferential voting, it's fantastic, much better than first past the post like the US or the UK. If you like RFK Jr., put him #1. If your next choice is Trump, put him #2 and Harris #3, I am assuming just 3 candidates, but it doesn't matter how many there are, this works. Say RFK gets the lowest, he is eliminated and the voting official will then count your vote as a Trump vote. Too bad, your guy came last, but you got your 2nd choice!
