The Whitecaps are also in talks to bring back goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka and defender Belal Halbouni. The team aims to build on their best-ever MLS season, which included an MLS Cup appearance, Canadian Championship win, and Concacaf Champions Cup final. The club has also exercised contract options for seven other players and declined options for three.
