We're Back for Season 2: Teaching to Transgress
Description
With a new academic year starting, so does the 2nd Season of this Podcast. After enjoying a (relatively busy) summer, Cassie and I are ready to take the podcasting world by storm. Sort of.
In this episode, we catch up with what's been going on in our lives. We also dedicate this episode to bell hooks and their philosophy of "Teaching to Transgress". We talk about revolting against the status quo and how to manage students who want to use the classroom as their personal therapy session. Notably, I am not entirely convinced by all of hooks' claims (i.e., using sexual/libido energy as part of education).
