We've got time 2 : Using time wisely - Ephesians 5:15-20
Description
In his letter to the Ephesians the Apostle Paul urges them to make the most of their time. The reason he gives is that these days are evil, but I don’t think this is meant to be a definitive statement about what life is like here on earth, we have much to celebrate and enjoy and Jesus is still Lord of heaven and earth after all. What I think he means is that evil is working hard in this world to take life from us all, so we need to be alert and working hard to bring the good.
We know how our story ends, Jesus is leading us to paradise, but what do we do with the time we have here on earth? Are we just waiting for our number to be called so we can go in and enjoy peace and everlasting wonder, or do we have work to do here?
As we are exploring time and busyness over the next few weeks I want us to stop and ask some good questions of ourselves. Are we being wise or foolish with our time? What are some of the things that are distracting us from what is important? Who are the people we really need to be making time for? And what are the things that cannot wait, that we have to do now?
