The Falcons went down 48-17 in New Orleans to their hated rivals, the Saints, in the season finale.  With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeating the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte earlier in the afternoon, the Dirty Birds (7-10) were eliminated from playoff contention with a losing record for the sixth straight season, and third straigh under coach Arthur Smith.
