My most recent text was to my husband: "Happy Gettysburg!" When we first started our relationship, we lived about an hour apart. I'd call him every night when he left my apartment to make sure he got home okay, and inevitably he would still be on the highway, almost always at the Gettysburg exit. So it kinda became our thing to give a shout-out to each other any time we passed that exit. That started 13 years ago, and we've moved several times since then, so we seldom see that section of the city any more. This particular time was over the past weekend, while on a road trip with my sister to visit her childhood bff's bridal shower, so there was a bit of extra romantic poignancy to it <3
