Weird Assed Inventions
Description
Recently, it was revealed that the Navy had received a patent for a fusion reactor. This free energy source (and favorite of sci-fi writers) hasn’t been proven to actually work, but just in case, they wanted to make sure they had full rights to it - you know to avoid another Space Force-type debacle.
This got us to thinking about the other weird patents out there that some poor clerk actually had to review and submit the paperwork for - all while maintaining his or her composure.
We dove into the patent office’s website (and stopped by Mental Floss - thanks guys!) and found a few devices that had us scratching our heads and laughing out loud while we pondered just how much free time these people had on their hands, and whether they might find a better way to use it.
