The World Cup kicked off in Doha, Qatar yesterday. The country was chosen as the host country in 2010. Since they were selected, they have faced criticism for their treatment of migrant workers and their stance on LGBTQ+ individuals.
Joining us to talk about the games is Mother Jones Senior Reporter Tim Murphy. He recently unpacked the path FIFA World Cup 2022 in his piece “How the Story of Soccer Became the Story of Everything.”
