Belief in conspiracy theories has become common, with at least half of all Americans believing in conspiracies of one form or another. In a sense the conspiracy worldview has been normalized, presented as an alternative to the mainstream worldview. But are we really accomplishing anything by giving our attention to conspiracies, or is it just a distraction? Nick Hinton spent many years in the conspiracy community, has researched it thoroughly, and even wrote several books on the subject, and so he is perhaps one of the most qualified candidates to speak on this topic.
