I’m recording today’s Simple Joe from a hotel in Chester, England after a marathon travel day from Cincinnati that included a wrong-gate scramble in Atlanta, a just-in-time Virgin connection to Manchester, and a lost bag that somehow ended up in Paris. We start with a fun fact about the Eiffel Tower growing six inches taller in summer, then move into the weather for North Charleston, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chester, England. I share birthdays for George S. Patton, Jonathan Winters, Stanley Tucci (65), Demi Moore (63), Calista Flockhart (61), Scoot McNairy (48), and Ty Sheridan (29), look back at the Mayflower Compact of 1620, Washington becoming the 42nd state in 1889, and the World War I Armistice in 1918, and celebrate Veterans Day, Education Day, and National Sundae Day. In Tuesday’s Random Questions, I talk about what it might be like to live a day as an ant, why patient driving would make the world a little better, and why I’d rather travel to the future than relive the past.
