Most of us refer to karma as a cosmic scorecard, a system of rewards and punishments. But when considering the higher realms, I find it helps to distinguish between a lowercase k karma and a capital K karma. Lowercase karma is simply the law of cause and effect. It's the energetic residue of our actions. If you throw a stone into the pond, the ripples are the karma. Commit a crime? Karma is the getting arrested. It isn't bad; it's just the universe working as designed, staying in balance. Then there's the capital K karma, which is the soul-level cycle of debts and balancing. For eons we had to return life after life to pay back every deed, often getting trapped in a repetitive loop of an eye for an eye. Or else we can serve as a victim in some way to make up for causing that hardship in a previous life. The karmic debt left over at the end of a lifetime is considered during the life planning period, and we do this with our Guide and with the elders in the spirit world. We choose to experience the other side of the situation that needs to be balanced to help our soul grow. But here's the game changer--according to the late Dolores Cannon and many modern channelers, the rules of the game are changing. We are told that karma is no longer a required feature of incarnation on Earth; it has become optional. We're moving into a new, higher frequency: the New Earth, where the old cycle of karmic debt is being dissolved. You no longer have to return to settle the score. You can simply choose to release the contract through forgiveness and understanding, especially self-forgiveness. So the wheels of karma only turn if you believe you're bound by them. Once you realize that you are a sovereign fragment of Source, you can step off the wheel entirely. You are here to learn through grace and joy now. So stop looking over your shoulder for the cosmic bill collector. You are free to create a new script.
